ENGLISH VERSION

Australia has long relied on carbon-intensive blast furnaces to make steel. Today, we’re flipping that script. Our new steel plant—commissioned in 2025—will be the country’s first facility purpose-built for sustainable steel production.

  1. 100 % Renewable Power

Every arc furnace, conveyor and crane will run on a dedicated portfolio of solar, wind and firming storage. No coal, no offsets, no compromises.

  2. Local Scrap, Local Jobs

Up to 85 % of our feedstock will be Australian scrap steel, keeping waste out of landfill and value in our regions. The plant will create 1,200 direct jobs and 3,500 indirect roles across Victoria and New South Wales.

  3. Green Ironmaking, Proven at Scale

We’re pairing electric arc furnaces with a MIDREX H₂ direct-reduction module that runs on green hydrogen generated on-site. The result: 95 % lower CO₂ per tonne compared with the traditional coke route.

  4. Transparent Impact Dashboard

Starting day one, live data on energy use, emissions and water will be published on our open-source platform. Communities, investors and customers can verify our progress in real time.

  5. A Circular Blueprint for the Nation

The facility is designed to be replicated. Detailed engineering specs, financing templates and training programs will be open-access so that every state can build its own low-carbon steel hub.

Today, we’re not just opening a plant; we’re launching an industry-wide upgrade. Australian steel can be strong, affordable and clean—starting now.
